Feathered Acres Learning Farm & Inn welcomes anyone with a curiosity to learn about regenerative agriculture or who simply wants to spend a weekend lodging in a barn.

Why Feathered Acres?
The name Feathered Acres comes from the free-ranging chickens that roam the property. I loved that everywhere I was on the farm I could see feathers swaying in the wind. Seeing how free my chickens were, each day not confined made my heart happy. That then slowly stemmed to the integration of regenerative agricultural practices. With a regenerative approach, animals have the best quality life and can express their true animal instincts, giving them a free-range life to do as they please and eat a large diversity of plants.

To our beautiful land, we promise to focus on soil health, plant biodiversity, and no chemicals. To our guests, we promise a comfy night’s rest and to transparently answer all of your farming questions.
Hi there! We’re the Zachman Family. Trisha, Nolan, Esther, Burke& Elmer.
Nolan and I were married in 2018! We met in high school and both went to NDSU together, and love the farm that we have started to create together. Before we purchased it, the farm belonged to Nolan’s family. Now we get to raise a family of our own and live out our passion for Regenerative Farming. We 3 kiddos, Esther, Burke & Elmer and they are already loving the farm life! We include them in our daily chores hoping to instill responsibility, life skills, love, and respect for the animals. We would love to show you our hectic way of life and how farming is so very close to our hearts!

All ages are appropriate!

Wear your outside clothing that you don’t getting dirty! Our chickens roam freely so there will be the occasional droppings around the farm that might be stepped on!
Easy to clean shoes!

We will get to pet chicken, sheep, cats and dogs and we might be able to touch a pig!

Outdoor clothing and a change of clothes for inside since they more than likely will get dirty.
Food for cooking
Binoculars for looking at deer, pheasants, and turkeys that come out in the evenings

Yes! I will have some treat for our tour for the chickens and sheep!

No smoking inside any buildings. Smoking outside is allowed, but we ask that you throw your butts in a garbage can.
Please be respectful of the gardens. We ask that you do not pick flowers, vegetables, or fruits without permission.
No running or rough play in the gardens. This can easily end in injury or create damage to plants that are growing.
No roaming around the whole farm without my guidance. There are areas that you will have access to the whole time, but then certain areas that will need to be guided by me for your safety!
